On The Market? Consider Having a Home Inspection Performed “before” Selling your Home

In many cases, the items you overlook, or have come to live with, may be of a bigger concern to a potential purchaser. Things a homeowner may take for granted,  can be a potential problem for a buyer.

Maybe your buyer will be a single person, busy schedule, and fixing many “little” items, can become a burden.

The small items bundled up, may become enough of the big picture, to have a buyer cancel their transaction.

I always suggest a seller have a termite inspection done right away, so we can see what potential repairs need to be completed before closing their escrow…in addition to having a home inspection, so a lot of the smaller items can be eliminated, and if necessary, sometimes larger items too.

While any homeowner can sell their home in “as-is” condition, the very statement can frighten off buyers that may wonder what lerks beneath so to speak.

A seller that is looking to have a smooth transaction, may want to consider how an already overwhelmed buyer may react to their own inspection of the property.
